THE BIGGEST NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION TO MAKE FOR YOURSELF: START SAYING I WILL

2018

THE BIGGEST NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION TO MAKE FOR YOURSELF: START SAYING I WILL—

While I was watching the twelfth hour of the Today show, the only segment of the show that I enjoy—when Hoda and Kathie Lee come on and talk like old girlfriends who know each other so well and make sitting down in front of the TV fun again. Kathie Lee and Hoda said something that made me realize a whole lot of something. They put life into perspective for me.

HA! YES, Kathie Lee and Hoda made me feel better about my life. Talking about making New Year’s resolutions and keeping them, they said an expert said we have to stop saying I should lose weight, I should get a better job.

What we should do is stop saying ‘I should lose ten pounds.’  ‘I should be more positive’. Instead say affirmative action verbs of I will, and I can do this. So this year I am off to a more positive way of thinking and participating in life. No longer will I think or say I should clean that messy, smelly refrigerator. From now on, I will say I am going to clean the refrigerator. And for my New Year’s resolution I am going to start drinking alcohol again. When most people are thinking after drinking too much on New Year’s Eve that they need to start drinking less booze, I’m going the other way. I am going to start drinking more wine more often and I am going to enjoy life more often instead of bitching about what I can’t control—which is by the way almost everything.

What New Year’s resolutions did you make for 2018?
