THE LOCALS IS THE MOST DESPICABLE BOOK OF 2017!

localJONATHAN DEE’S THE LOCALS HAS BEEN NAMED THE MOST DESPICABLE BOOK OF 2017!

Greed is not good. The main theme of The Locals is about people wanting more: more money, bigger houses, more sex, more power, more of everything. But the way it is written is in a manner so dull, it is a turnoff.

The Locals written by Jonathan Dee did not draw me in to feel anything for any of the characters, and did not tell an identifyable, intriguining tale. In fact, readers may come to despise each character—for a different reason. The Locals is dull, does not start making any valid points until 120 pages in, and was written about despicable people in a despicable manner.

Jonathan Dee tells uncomfortable truthisms about each member of the small town of Howland. He tells stories about each member of the town. Somehow he manages to do so , in a rather pointless manner which completely turned me off. His writing style reminded me of John Steinbeck—which is in a long, dull manner that bores readers to sleep, not entices us to read more.

The first two chapters could have been left out of the book because most of the stories center on a small town and the small town people living in it. The first two chapters talk about how New York City residents act and react after 9-11 happens. I’m talking about a week after 9-11 happens, not right after it happens—which may have been more interesting.

He literally has a character reacting so negatively to how New York City residents act with caring and kindness, I figured Dee has an affliction for being hateful!

WOW! Dee tells stories about the townsfolk in a long, roundabout way, he did not pull me in to what he was doing—which was writing stream of consciousness. Dee may need to take writing lessons from James Patterson on how to write an interesting book.

The Locals reminded me of The Pearl written by John Steinbeck, which was one of the worst books of all time. If Dee was trying to write a classic all kids in high school must read to pass an English lit class, then he accomplished his goal. . Momzinga.com.
