STAND BACK STEPHEN KING READERS, ANDREW PYPER IS BETTER: READ THE ONLY CHILD

THE ONLY CHILD WRITTEN BY ANDREW PYPER—ANOTHER MASTER OF HORROR—

Stephen King watch out, because there’s a new author in town who can write mesmerizing horror as well as you can, if not better. If you love horror books, turned into great horror movies, Andrew Pyper is the man. I felt compelled to read The Only Child as fast as I could turn the pages.

Awesomely scary, The Only Child starts out with the first five chapters ripping through at about two or three pages each. I felt discombobulated, because Pyper writes only the necessary words, and they didn’t seem to go together. But once I got used to his writing and how things seemed weird, suddenly it all fell into place and I felt like I was in the hands of master writer. Then I discovered Andrew Pyper’s The Only Child is not his first book, like I was led to believe. Currently, Lost Girls and The Demonologist are in development for TV and movies.

The Only Child does not prattle on about the scenery, but Pyper does this extraordinary thing of sparingly using only the necessary words. At Times Pyper jumps to another chapter or another thought without perhaps some necessary words. but this is the way I love my writers; to not babble incessantly about nothing.

The Only Child involves Lily who is the creation of a man-thing who may be 200 years old and who could be the creation of Dracula and two other demonic forces. Her mother, we readers don’t really know because Lily’s mother was killed in Alaska when Lily was a mere child. Lily has pretty much raised herself, and has become a forensic psychiatrist working a steady job, but not gaining any close relationships with anyone, until that is when her Dad finds her, who is perhaps an alien or Dracula or a combination of God only knows what or who.

I sped through The Only Child because I had to find out what is going on and who exactly Lily’s Dad really is. I had to find out what happens next as you will too. Momzinga.com.
