THE PERFECT STRANGER BY MEGAN MIRANDA–SCINTILLATING THRILLER KEEPS YOU ON EDGE OF YOUR SEAT!
I am officially bestowing an honor of distinction on The Perfect Stranger as THE BEST THRILLER BOOK OF 2017. This is the first book this year I dove into and did not come up for air until I was done. Miranda had me from the first sentence. I started reading one night, picked it up after getting work done the next day, read through dinner, after dinner and while my hubby was snoring.
The Perfect Stranger tells the story of Leah Stevens becoming friends with Emmy. But what it really comes down to how Emmy is her best friend but Leah doesn’t really know a damn thing about Emmy. Emmy does everything she can to fly under the radar. She lives in crappy apartments, supposedly works lousy jobs to stay out of the light. Leah finds out after Emmy and Leah whose name is fake, is not who she really thinks she is.
Emmy disappears after a woman in the small town Leah and Emmy moved to, to escape their lives, has been attacked. The woman looks very much like Leah. The attack happens at the same time Emmy Grey, disappears. Two days later after Emmy does not turn up anywhere, and all the leads, which are non-informational, Leah discovers Emmy Grey has been using a fake name, does not work where she says she works, is hanging out with known criminals, and probably is one herself.
What exactly makes The Perfect Stranger THE BEST THRILLER BOOK OF 2017? Well, it’s how Miranda tells the story of Leah discovering she has been best friends and living with a stranger. Emmy Grey is not her real name, nor has Emmy been straight with Leah throughout the entire book. Miranda allows Leah to discover more and more about Emmy throughout the book as Leah’s life unravels. Leah looks like a suspect and then is in potential danger of being killed—but by who? Is Emmy out in the Pennsylvania woods stalking her ‘best friend’?
Suspense rides The Perfect Stranger throughout the entire book, until the scintillating ending.
I could not put The Perfect Stranger down, I had to keep reading. This is without a doubt the best book I have read all year. In fact I would go as far as saying, The Perfect Stranger is brilliantly plotted, well thought out, grabs hold of the reader and keeps you spellbound for its entirety!! Momzinga.com!
