Momzinga’s TACO TUESDAY:How to Make Authentic Buffalo Chicken Wings

Wings
BUFFALO CHICKEN WINGS

What city did the original chicken wings come from? If you answered Buffalo, New York, you are good. You’re ready to go on Jeopardy and answer the puzzling questions. Chicken wings originated from a local restaurant called the Anchor Bar in the city of Buffalo, New York.

Legend has it that the owner made the chicken wings to see what he could do with the left over parts of the chicken. From there came the birth of a food that has been eaten by just about every person ever born in Buffalo, N.Y.

Just like Friday fish fries are a food to be missed when a person moves to another city, locals miss the fantastic taste of authentic Buffalo wings.

HOW CAN YOU MAKE AUTHENTIC BUFFALO CHICKEN WINGS AT HOME?

DIRECTIONS:

Bake about 30 chicken wings on a pan in the oven. Chicken wings are supposed to be cooked in a fryer, but not on Momzinga’s watch. Most people do not own a fryer. I’m going with the safer cooking method, to avoid the hassle of handling hot grease, thus avoiding injury or fire.

SHAKE AND BAKE

Bake the wings at about 400 for about 35-40 minutes—depending on your oven.
After 45 cooking minutes, mix 5 tablespoons of melted butter, and Frank’s Red Hot Sauce in a bowl.
A large plastic bowl will be your best option.

When done cooking, take the wings out of the oven, and mix them in the bowl. You will have to do them in increments of 10.

REMEMBER CELERY AND CARROT STICKS!

Add the amount of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce to get the desired chicken wing hotness. Authentic Buffalo chicken wings come in mild, medium and hot.
You will want to have chilled blue cheese dressing and cooled celery and carrot sticks with the wings. I slather my wings in blue cheese with the celery and carrot sticks, and then eat them. Copyright (c) 2014!
