TACO TUESDAY— Spiced Cranberry, Chocolate, Orange Biscotti

SPICED CRANBERRY, WHITE CHOCOLATE AND ORANGE BISCOTTI—

INGREDIENTS—

3 1/2 ounces plain flour
3 1/2 oz. castor sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
3 oz. white chocolate, chopped
2 oz. dried cranberries, roughly chopped
2 oz. candied orange peel, roughly chopped
1 egg-beaten

DIRECTIONS–

Preheat oven to 160 degrees
Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and spices into a large bowl.

Add the chocolate, cranberries and candied orange and mix well. Then mix in the beaten egg to form a soft dough. Flour your hands, then turn the dough out onto a lightly floured work surface and form into a sausage about 12 inches long and 1 1/2 inches wide.

Place on a baking tray and bake for about 25 minutes until browned, then remove and allow to colon a wire rack for 5 minutes.

Cut into slices about 1/2 inch thick, lay flat on the tray and bake for 10 more minutes.

Turn all the broccoli over on the tray, return to the oven and continue baking for 10 more minutes. They should have a light golden color on both sides. Cool on a wire rack. Transfer to airtight container, where they should stay fresh for up to 2 weeks. Taken from All Things Sweet by Rachel Allen
